My Approach to Helping
Whether it be in the therapeutic setting or health coaching, it is my goal to provide a warm and safe environment for those who seek my help. This environment allows for transparency so that healing may take place; healing for the broken, wounded, or uncertain places within a person or a relationship. People can find themselves at a place in their lives they are uncertain how to bring about change; it is my belief they have the solutions within themselves, and sometimes simply need someone to help them realize this.
More Info About My Practice
I am currently accepting new therapy clients and health coaching clients. Therapeutic mental health services are currently exclusively virtual which allows me to see clients in all parts of the states of Kansas, Missouri, and Florida. I see health coaching clients in individual and group settings virtually and offer coaching nationwide.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have had experience working with couples surrounding various issues including: premarital counseling, communication issues, pornography issues, parenting differences and repairing after a betrayal; I have developed a heart for blended families and the unique set of relationship dynamics they experience. In addition to my private practice, I have extensive experience working with individuals and their families coping with the aftermath of sexual assault and abuse.
I am also a Certified Health Coach with additional education in Performance Nutrition. Coaching in a health and fitness environment has allowed me to help others discover creative ways of achieving their health goals while developing a healthier relationship with food.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Our society has created a sense that if one pursues therapy they have a type of weakness that is to be considered shameful; I like to clarify that it takes strength to recognize they may need a hand and to ask for it. I like to help a client understand their problems are part of being human and that they are not alone in their struggle. It takes great strength to reach out to another and be willing to become vulnerable in order to make the changes to improve their life.
