My Approach to Helping

My belief in people and their ability to heal and grow is evident and noticeable to most people as soon as we meet. I believe that you are capable of getting to a much better place in your life because I have done it myself and have assisted so many of my client's getting relief from their challenges and positive movement in their lives. I tend to have a very supportive, practical and optimistic perspective on life and how I help people live happier and more fulfilled lives.

Working as a therapist and helping people has been the most important and fulfilling thing I do. It's a wonderful experience to know I was designed to do this. I believe my deep drive and passion to make an impact on this world in helping people manage through some of their most challenging times in their lives, continues to fuel me with personal reward and satisfaction. Helping others to experience the same sense of contentment and happiness in their lives has become a major goal of mine. In my over 25 years of clinical practice as a counselor, I have sat with many different people and have helped them learn and discover things about themselves that have helped transform them into healthier and full functioning humans. I have helped to improve their self-relationship, their relationships with others, and nurtured and supported personal growth and well-being through their darkest times. I provide commitment, compassion, support, warmth, and unconditional positive regard as a tapestry that is woven through our sessions for all my clients. Coming to see me will be a different experience in rekindling how to feel and perform more effectively in your lives. I am passionate about watching the “lights go on” as my clients explore and discover about themselves and how to soothe and manage life’s “curveballs” more effectively

I hear from my clients such things as, “I have gained such a better self-relationship and understanding of what I need to do and am doing it well" or “you’ve helped to save my life.” I firmly believe that if we can explore ourselves at times, we will transform our lives and relationships. I will enjoy accompanying you along your path of healing at your pace with genuine connection and support, infused with clinical proficiency.

Allow me to walk you through and listen to your story without the judgment of your friends or family and be a deeply committed and warm human being that will hear you, while raising your self-awareness and equipping you with the tools to be healthy.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Parenting is a huge challenge and I always hear "There is no manual!" I have developed a model of parenting that will address you and your skills as a parent to help equip and navigate you to be the best parent you dreamt about being. If you don't know what to do or need help working through how to handle your child, I would love to listen and hear your challenges. I, myself am a parent and love every minute of the opportunity to guide, nurture, and teach my child. It is my goal to help you figure out how to best help your child navigate their own challenges and also to help you avoid the many pitfalls and parenting traps listed in my soon to be released parenting book, entitled, "There is a manual, Here it is"!

My Role as a Therapist

I am a true believer in 2 things: the relationship you have with yourself and 2) What skill sets do you use to navigate life, especially the curveballs? It is within this framework that I help you explore, develop and grow when facing symptoms and patterns of beliefs and responses. Addictions, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, and Parenting are areas I help.
