My Approach to Helping
I have twenty years of experience providing mental health care in a community setting, including ten years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have experience supporting individuals experiencing symptoms of Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, and Schizophrenia, in addition to supporting clients experiencing life transitions, serious medical illness, and the illness of addiction. I utilize a trauma-informed lens and am passionate about helping others improve their quality of life.
Emotional discomfort and pain are just as real as physical pain and can affect all areas of your life. I find joy in developing a trusting relationship with my clients in which they feel safe, heard, understood, cared for, and validated. This is the basis from which I support my clients in learning more about themselves, problem solving, exploring, healing, and growing. I feel comfortable utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches, and work together as a team with my client to identify the most effective strategy to accomplish their personal goals for therapy.
