My Approach to Helping

Being an emerging adult is full of challenges, from managing academics and relationships, to large lifestyle changes and starting in the workforce. These challenges can have both an emotional and practical toll on our lives, and often leave us feeling sad or anxious. I work primarily with adults who find their moods and emotions interfering with their goals and lifestyle. Together, we will work to create a safe environment, where you feel empowered to discuss, process, and problem solve concerns surrounding relationships, trauma, identity, grief, or other troubling experiences.

The way we approach therapy will be different depending on your unique circumstances, preferences, and needs. However, there are certain principles I apply with all clients, my practice is trauma-informed and uses evidence-based models of psychotherapy, including but not limited to, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

Reaching out for support can be daunting, I aim to meet your bravery with authenticity, empathy, and care. If you'd like to explore the possibility of working together, please call or e-mail with the information above. Sessions can take place virtually or in-person downtown Toronto.

Groups I Work With

I have particular experience working with young adults dealing with mood disorders or symptoms of depression. This can include feelings of hopelessness, isolation, low motivation, or a history of self-harm. My experience with young adults includes both providing psychotherapy as well as being a Peer Supporter in multiple community and professional settings. I also bring unique insight into navigating mental health concerns as an Asian-Canadian, where cultural understandings of mental health may differ between Western and Eastern upbringings.
