My Approach to Helping
One of the best things my dad ever said to me was: Unless you believe in reincarnation, it’s time to be happy now. (Personally, I think this applies even if you do believe in reincarnation.) How to make the most of our time, our relationships, and ourselves - for me, these are the key questions that led me to become a marriage and family therapist. Along with traditional talk therapy, I use EMDR to help you work through present challenges and past difficult experiences so that you can live more freely in the here and now - unencumbered by old self-defeating beliefs and fears.
For couples, I employ a Gottman and an Emotionally Focused Therapy approach to facilitate a deep understanding of, and empathy for, yourself and your partner. All couples are welcome - heterosexual, same-sex, monogamous, open relationships. I have a passion for working with couples to help them learn to navigate conflict and to deepen friendship and intimacy.
My goal is to offer a safe and affirming space for you to explore the things you want to improve in your life, as well as the things you want to transform - no matter how big or small. I offer a free 30-minute consultation, and I can't wait to work with you.
