My Approach to Helping
My practice focuses on what is unique to your life experience through compassionate listening & careful attention to the thoughts, feelings, speech, and symptoms of past and present trauma. Those closest to us are not always able to make sense of our most intimate experiences, which can often become a source of distress. I create a safe space in which you can speak freely and elaborate on your concerns in finding the words that make sense of your suffering. I follow a psychoanalytic approach that explores your concerns in-depth, allowing you to be heard, seen, and understood in ways that are attuned to your life context and experiences.
What are you trying to say that others cannot support? What issues do you struggle with that seek to be heard and clarified? What patterns are repeating in your life and relationships that you want to break? What are your dreams pointing to? Together, we will openly discuss and give meaning to past losses and present disappointments in achieving long-term healing.
We will work to interpret your speech, symptoms, dreams, desires, and patterns of repetition in guiding our work. By working at a deeper level, we will locate the causes of your distress by analyzing what is consciously and unconsciously affecting you in your day-to-day experience that prevents you from achieving your desires and living a full and satisfying life.
