My Approach to Helping
I have over 23 years of clinical experience, and as an openly gay man, I feel that I have an empathetic perspective on most issues—especially those of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Bill Stone is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with over 23 years of experience. He has worked with a mix of clientele in a variety of clinical settings and prefers working with adolescents, adults, and seniors who are struggling to cope with addiction, substance use, anxiety, depression, gender identity, transgender concerns, trauma, and PTSD, among many other issues. Bill holds a Master's degree in Counseling and Student Personnel Services from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Bill has also spent years working in correctional facilities, community mental health clinics, hospitals, private practices, and government agencies at the state and county levels. He is eclectic in his approach to therapy, and pulls from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), culturally-sensitive therapy (CSAT) eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and more. Bill likes to help his clients whatever their issues may be. He is most notable for being able to build rapport and trust with multiple clients and has a humble, nonjudgmental approach.
