My Approach to Helping
Our life experiences shape who we are and how we interact with the world. While some of our more positive experience influence the empowering beliefs we hold about ourselves, our negative experiences also shape the defeating beliefs we hold and create the patterns of dysfunction in our lives. All of our life experiences (both good and bad) are valuable in informing who we are today. Regardless of who we are, we all hold some negative beliefs about ourselves that prevent us from being the person we know we have the potential to be. I want to walk besides you as you see how every experience has made you into who you are meant to be.
I specialize in a variety of issues to include anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, & identity. Over the course of my career I have worked with: youth, families, adults & couples. The core of my approach draws from the belief that every person has inherent value and dignity. In our sessions we will work together as equals to address our problems.
Integration is important to me because this is a story that I relate to. I grew up in a town where I was one of the few minorities. As a result of my experiences I internalized strong negative beliefs about myself. Learning to integrate all parts of my identity and experiences allowed me to realize my potential and I can't wat to help you do the same!
