My Approach to Helping
You deserve a counselor who "gets you." You may be asking yourself: will this therapist judge me? Will they recognize my experiences as legitimate? Will they treat me like a person or a smorgasbord of symptoms? Those questions are completely justified. That's why I offer an alternative to traditional psychotherapy--no stigmatizing labels, no patronizing psychobabble, no more feeling like you're a broken person in need of fixing. If you're going through a difficult life transition, feeling stressed, struggling with low self-esteem, andor identify as LGBTQIA+, I'd love to work with you.

Here's what former clients are saying. All reviews are shared with enthusiastic consent.
"I think talking with a counselor can be very hard and Annie was very easy to talk to. She allowed me to feel totally comfortable opening up about how I was feeling without any hesitation. She also has been the first counselor that I feel has really had a positive influence on my well being. I don’t think she has a cookie cutter approach to treating her patients. She really took time to understand what I was going through which made me very confident that she was going to be able to help me."
"In past experiences with counseling, I felt like I talked about my feelings a lot and never got to dig deep and figure out how to get rid of those negative feelings (or accept them rather). This experience was much different and I found it to be very helpful."
"I feel very fortunate to have gotten to work with Annie. I was struggling more than I ever have, and every day felt like a chore. Even after just one session with Annie I started feeling better and having hope because she made me feel really confident that we would get to the bottom of things."
