My Approach to Helping
I am a collaborative, dynamic, and engaging therapist and would like to be your avenue of support on your path to growth, change, and transformation. I am a somatic therapist interested in your well-being and in helping you understand the source of your pain. I would like to get to know you and provide a space where you can show up just as you are; where transformation can take place. Together we will help you embody your strengths and internal wisdom to break unhealthy patterns and help you move forward. As a body-centered and trauma-based therapist with additional training in EMDR and PACT Couple Therapy, our work will go beyond talk therapy with a body- and experiential-based approach that helps develop congruency with your inner and outer world. We will explore your past, your environment and the experiences that shape you to connect with your whole self. I'm inspired and honored to witness clients find clarity and acceptance, rekindle their life, and discover their inherent ability to heal.
More Info About My Practice
I am a Boulder Therapist based near downtown Boulder, Colorado. Through my practice at Inner Rhythm Counseling, I will work to inspire you to befriend yourself and empower you to change by helping you understand your deepest truths and strengths. We will work to develop your self-awareness and connect you with your internal knowing to make healthy decisions and maintain healthy relationships.
I specialize in the conditions that many experience including developmental and shock trauma, PTSD, anxiety, substance and behavioral addictions, relationship conflict, major life transitions, and the integration of spirituality through body-mind connection.
To help overcome these issues, I use proven and well-founded therapeutic modalities including Body-Centered Psychotherapy, EMDR Therapy, and PACT Couple Therapy. I also draw on creative arts and experiential psychotherapies, neuroscience, attachment theory, mindfulness and other contemplative practices.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
My extensive personal and professional experiences and educational training, as well as my navigation through personal hardships, informs my work as a somatic psychotherapist.
My journey to become a somatic psychotherapist developed from being faced with adversity through family addiction, deep loss and experiencing developmental, emotional, and physical traumas. I have had the privilege to access my own healing through nature, education, personal movement practices as a dancer and avid outdoor adventurer, as well as through mindfulness, meditation, and body-centered psychotherapies.
I now have a deep understanding of my story and witness my darkest moments as my greatest life teachers and gifts. I am moved to be an avenue for others to reunite with their story and discover their wholeness and uniqueness.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet and support you in this way!
