Anita Adams, Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi, I am Anita Adams and I am a licensed professional counselor and a licensed addictions counselor who has worked, primarily with the forensic population who are currently incarcerated. I am skilled in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused brief therapy. I am also trained in eye movement rapid desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and frequently work with clients who exhibit co-occurring disorders including post traumatic stress disorder and substance use disorders. In the "getting to know you" stage of our relationship, I am conversational and curious. Once we have progressed into our therapy sessions, I use a more relaxed and calm tone to enhance coping strategies.
