My Approach to Helping
Anna "Mitzi" Drummond is a Resident in Counseling (RIC) and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) with over 30 years of experience in the mental health field. She works with diverse adult populations, specializing in substance use, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, women's issues, and more. Mitzi earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Virginia Union University and her Master's degree in Education from Virginia State University. She stays up-to-date with evidence-based therapy modalities and most often employs cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques in her sessions. Mitzi believes that we were created to help each other. She understands that talking about certain issues and reaching out for help can be difficult. Mitzi will attempt to create a safe place where you can explore tools and pathways that will allow you to grow and develop, to build a better way of life. She looks forward to working together.
