My Approach to Helping

Trauma & PTSD Specialist: Therapy, Training, Consulting & Supervision Services

My practice, Bella Health, is solely dedicated to providing effective, research-backed trauma and PTSD services.

PTSD is a hidden wound that can hijack the mind and body. People often come to me expressing deep feelings of shame, guilt, fear, sadness, anger, unwanted thoughts, feeling on guard, feeling distant from the joys in life, struggling with esteem, relationships and trust. They have a sense of profound "stuckness" accompanied by a disbelief that things could change or get better. Some of my clients are discouraged after having tried therapy for years with minimal to no relief of their PTSD symptoms while others are trying it for the first time.

Did you know that often regular talk therapy isn't effective in alleviating PTSD symptoms? But specific therapies exist that are. Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure (PE & WET) are considered the "gold standard" therapies for PTSD. They all have mountains of research showing their effectiveness in facilitating the healing process AND they are all short-term -typically under 20 sessions! You also have the option of doing them more intensively (2-3x a week) for more rapid relief. Almost 100% of Bella Health clients who have completed therapy no longer meeting the criteria for PTSD and all of them (100%) report significant improvements in PTSD symptoms.

Because I am extensively trained in multiple research-backed therapies for trauma and PTSD, you are matched with a therapy path that best fits your needs, style and unique symptom presentations. This also allows you more choice and flexibility in how you want to process your experiences.

PTSD is a prolonged, over-adapted state of survival mode. We are wired for survival first and foremost but we are also wired to adapt. And we are wired to heal. A life without PTSD and Post trauma growth is possible!

My Role as a Therapist

Whether you believe it or not, you often have most of what you need to heal and recover and the fact that you are seeking help tells me much about your resilience and strength. You may not see it. We all have our blindspots. My job is to help uncover those areas with you. I view my role as a facilitator, coach and guide. I'm not hear to analyze you or give you unsolicited advise. I am here to help guide you in finding your own answers and new perspectives that work for you, discovering and learning what skills work best for you and exploring what post-trauma life can look and feel like.
