My Approach to Helping

I specialize in treating adults (ages 18 and up) for a variety of individual therapy needs and couples counseling services for those seeking better relationships and communication skills.
I provide services for a broad range of personal, psychological, and relational concerns focused on helping clients get to the root of their difficulties and learn ways to become more self-aware, cope with difficult emotions, improve mood, feel connected to others, and live more fulfilling and satisfying lives. Working together we can find ways to get you on the path towards changing where you are now to moving towards where you want to be.
The heart and soul of my approach is to help clients develop insight, self-awareness, self-acceptance, and as always, we work together to understand what the problems are and develop new strategies for tackling them. Are you ready to start the journey towards living your best life?

More Info About My Practice

In counseling, I create a supportive and safe environment in which you can move from feeling stuck or confused in some area of life to feeling more confident and better connected to others. The heart and soul of my approach is to help clients develop self-awareness and self-acceptance. We work together to understand what the problems are and develop new strategies for tackling them.
I have expertise in anxiety and mood disorders, binge eating disorders, relationship problems, self-defeating patterns, lack of purpose, family of origin issues, OCD, panic disorder, worrying all the time, ADHDADD, traumaPTSD, low self-esteem, life transitions, loss and grief, and teaching coping skills that address chronic pain and medical challenges.
I've successfully worked with many couples who desire a healthier and more satisfying relationship. I work with many high-functioning couples who would like to enhance their relationship and reestablish intimacy and connection.
My dream is to create a practice that is open and welcoming, providing services to people from all backgrounds, facing any number of life challenges, to get the help they need. I believe therapy is a collaborative relationship and begins with understanding you and your concerns.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Therapy can help reduce your suffering and increase the positive qualities in your life. I provide services focused on helping you get to the root of your difficulties and learn ways to become more self-aware, cope with difficult emotions, improve mood, feel connected to others, and live a more fulfilling and satisfying life.
If you are working towards healing or improving a current marriage or other committed relationship, we?ll focus on the negative interactions that have created emotional distance and help you understand the deeper reasons for those interactions. Once understanding has improved, we can guide you towards a more positive and healthy connection. Other relationship issues will have their own unique treatment for change.
My main therapy approach is using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT. Cognitive Behavioral therapy is a counseling treatment proven to be helpful for improving mental health through scientific research. Therefore, this means that CBT is not based only on what people think can work, but what has been shown to work.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

What called me to the profession of counseling is its ability to help people. From volunteering and mentorship in my youth to my work in community mental health and hospital settings, my passion for helping others has been a constant force in my life.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

At some point in life, we all experience a moment when we question whether we're on the best path forward. Perhaps a relationship feels unfulfilling, we're not advancing in our career the way we'd hoped, or we're feeling unsure about a decision. One day we relish in our job and the next we feel trapped. We often rely on temporary solutions that offer temporary relief. What we need is a chance to find out the real reasons behind our difficulties. That's where therapy can help and where I can help you start navigating towards the path that leads to better living. Continuing to ignore our challenges only makes them worse.
BUT, here's the good news: you're not alone. Together we can work towards making the changes towards helping you start living a more fulfilling life.
