My Approach to Helping

How we feel is central to how we live our lives. Whether you are struggling within a relationship, looking to overcome childhood trauma or navigating stressors in your life, I can help you to identify patterns and empower the change within yourself to alter your path. Give me a call or send me an email to see if we are a good match. Having a strong therapeutic alliance is key to promoting change. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am trained in EMDR and have a special interest in working with with teens and adults who have experienced trauma including male survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

Treatment begins with establishing a trusting relationship, and I am acutely aware that trust is cultivated over time. You are the expert on your own life and the gatekeeper of the therapeutic relationship; you choose how much or how little to share and when to share.

More Info About My Practice

Although I do not accept insurance at this time, I offer a sliding scale and reduced fees.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Therapy is helpful when you are stuck. Oftentimes, the disruptive patterns are engrained in our lives so much that they are hard to change. When you work with a therapist, you collaboratively work with a trained individual who is able to provide insight, often through yourself and your own verbal dialogue, so new behaviors can be obtained.

Gaining a trust of a counselor you are working with and establishing a strong therapeutic connection is vital for this process.

My work is also non-judgmental, positive and solution oriented.
