My Approach to Helping
“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.”
-Lou Holtz
You don't have to carry the load alone anymore. You’ve made the decision to be proactive, and I would like to be a part of that empowering process! I am excited to meet you and look forward to the therapeutic rapport we will build throughout your journey.
I'm Adrienne Parker and I’ve worked in mental health for over 9yrs providing individual, group, and family therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I’ve gained valuable experience working in hospital emergency departments (crisis team), psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, private practices, group homes, and in the community.
I am culturally competent having worked with a variety of populations, backgrounds, and lifestyles providing therapy and treatment to all ages and a range of diagnoses and issues such as: depression, anxiety, youth substance abuse, anger management, mood disturbances, adjustment diagnoses, childhood posttraumatic stress (PTSD) or trauma, character skill buildingself esteem, oppositional defiant (ODD), stress reduction, autism spectrum, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), and parents of children with special needs. I am open to discussing interfaith matters, and an advocate for the LGBTQ community.
My therapeutic approach is honest, direct, and effective. I use techniques that are client-centered, goal-oriented, and solution-focused including trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), imago relationship therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, brief therapy, and exposure and response prevention (ERP).
