My Approach to Helping
Therapy can be an empowering experience; an opportunity to better understand oneself, learn new ways of addressing problems, and enhance overall well-being. I am a clinical social worker with over a decade of experience working with adults and youth in hospitals as well as community and private settings. I support individuals struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and PTSD, self-esteem, eating issues, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and managing intense emotions.
My approach is warm, empathetic, genuine, respectful, and nonjudgmental. I am committed to working collaboratively with clients in creative ways that meet their unique needs in order to create a safe space to work on treatment goals while feeling supported.
My practice draws on evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness, interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), and cognitive processing therapy (CPT), among others. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and to see if we might be a comfortable fit together.
