Scottsdale Mental Health Statistics

At least 285 people in Scottsdale were diagnosed with a mental health issue in 2011 alone. In 2010, over 9 out of every 100,000 Maricopa County adults reported frequent mental distress. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that in 2015, 9% of adults reported over 14 days of poor mental health within the past month.

According to a 2014 Arizona State Health Assessment, Maricopa County saw 16 drug-induced deaths per 100,000 people in 2010. In addition, 14.2 adults had engaged in binge drinking. Also in 2010, 14.5 per 100,000 deaths were due to intentional self-harm and suicide and in 2011, Scottsdale reported 115 deaths to suicide.
