My Approach to Helping
If...you've tried therapy in the past, but the same patterns or worries keep coming back,
If...you're tired of rehashing the same old story over and over,
If ...you're ready to address your core issues for once and for all--
EMDR and Hypnotherapy can help!
My passion is helping people recover from trauma, whether they are 5 years old, or fifty. I have extensive experience in helping recovery from sexual and physical abuse.
EMDR offers reliable, prompt relief from symptoms, and I am pleased to be able to offer it to my clients. I find my clients enjoy their daily lives more as "triggers" are removed and resolved. EMDR doesn't remove the memory of the trauma, but it DOES remove the emotions from the memory.
Hypnotherapy is very useful when there is a habit you want to break or if you have a core issue that seems to affect everything else. By quieting the conscious mind and letting the subconscious speak, hypnotherapy can allow you to work at the deepest level, and truly experience closure on core issues.

As you are probably aware, your insurance company has the right to inspect your therapy record if they pay for the treatment. Understandibly, this makes many people uncomfortable. If you would prefer NOT to inform or use your insurance company, rates for private pay are $85 per session. In certain circumstances, adjustments to this fee are possible, on an individual basis.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
There is no greater satisfaction than helping someome resolve their feelings about a trauma (large or small) that has affected their enjoyment of life.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
With EMDR and Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy, I can typically help clients have significant relief in eight visits or less. Much depends on whether the trauma was short-lived or chronic and ongoing. Single incident traumas can often be processed in 1-2 EMDR sessions. Trauma that repeated over a period of time, like childhood abuse or combat trauma will naturally take more sessions to resolve. The length of therapy is determined by the client. Some choose to continue after the EMDR is complete, to process what they've experience, but that's an individual choice. The length of therapy is always at the discretion of the client, not the therapist.
