My Approach to Helping

I believe that each person is unique and there is no one size fits all approach to psychotherapy. I work in a collaborative manner and try to insure that we are relating well with each other. My goal is to try to attune and align with your own beliefs and self-awareness about what is helpful or empowering. I have many tools and ways of helping. One way that I have found to be very effective with a number of people is to take a mind/body view where there is no separation of mind from body. The mind is a process occurring within the body. This process creates states of mind which influence our thoughts, behaviors, and mood. These states of mind can be thought of as parts or "selves." By using voice dialogue to separate the parts out and dialogue with them, individuals gain access to information that allows the development of an "Aware Ego." By having awareness, clients learn how to consciously choose behavior rather than act on automatic pilot. Clients are able to transform themselves aligning their internal values with their external behavior.
