My Approach to Helping
Are you interested in exploring the possibility of making some personal changes or possibly learning how to cope with a personal challenge? Perhaps you want more joy, more vitality and less suffering in your life. I invite you to call for an appointment if you have hit a stumbling block and are looking for solutions. You might have a specific issue, be on a journey of personal transformation, be seeking to change long held patterns that no longer work for you, or you might not be sure why you are hurting but you would like help. My approach to therapy is relational, educational, compassionate, and collaborative. I provide confidential, nonjudgmental and empowering support where you can talk and make sense of your life, issues and challenges as well as develop skillful means for handling them. I have a holistic and integrative view of healing that influences the way I work with clients. Sessions are your time to explore your inner landscape, discover not only your thoughts and feelings but also to develop increased self awareness, self management, self acceptance, and more connection with others and engagement with life. I do not believe that there is a one-size-fits-all approach that works with everyone but I have been trained in a number of mind/body approaches such as Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Voice Dialogue, and Attachment Theory and these do influence the way I work. But I also like to partner with my clients to discover how they view the world and learn from them what works best for them.
