My Approach to Helping
I help facilitate healthy relationships that include feelings of closeness and connectedness, encourage open communication and promote collaborative decision-making. Therapy is a confidential, co-operative process based upon the enhancement of clients' strengths. Together we develop clear and well-defined goals in a safe, caring and supportive environment. Therapy may involve working with one person or with several family members.
I use an active approach with clients. In therapy, we examine problematic patterns of feeling, thinking and behaving and explore new strategies. I will offer feedback and provide a fresh perspective to promote new patterns of communicating that reduce stress and foster positive connections. Therapy provides an opportunity to make changes and work towards feeling better about yourself and improve your relationships. Therapy does not necessarily need to be long term. I offer short-term solution-focused counselling or longer in-depth psychotherapy.
With 15 years clinical experience I have worked with many individuals, couples, and families that have experienced a range of challenges. I operate from a systemic framework utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches (CBT, narrative, solution-focused, hypnotherapy/relaxation) to meet the clients' needs.

Most insurance providers cover our fees as Psychological Services or Registered Social Worker therapy services.
Weekend and evening appointments are available. First appointment offered within 2 days.
