My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Many people choose not to talk about their issues with family or friends. One of the main purposes of psychotherapy is to provide you a trusted therapist to fulfill this role. People do better when they are able to express their deepest thoughts and emotions to a trusted person in an atmosphere of safety, confidentiality, and non-attachment.
