My Approach to Helping

When you first enter my office, I will strive to make you feel comfortable. Discussing your issues and concerns with someone new is not always easy. I encourage you to ask questions so that you can gain a full understanding of the therapy process. I use an eclectic approach with my clients. Sometimes the approach includes teaching you new skills, building on existing strengths, or facilitating new thoughts and feelings through creative expression. While listening carefully to your story, I will assist you in creating your unique plan to tackle what concerns you most. Helping you get the most out of your sessions is important to me so I will often check in with you to see if a particular approach has been effective. I will strive to help you regain a sense of hope, purpose, and direction in your life.

More Info About My Practice

I enjoy helping individuals of all ages, particularly young children and seniors.

* I help children who are affected by illness, death and divorce. As they learn how to process and cope with their grief, loss, and sadness, they will become more confident in themselves, thereby making more healthy choices in the future.

* Many people at some point in their lives are faced with caring for an aging family member or friend who is declining mentally or physically. This can be very painful to watch. Often times the caregiver neglects him or herself. I help these individuals learn strategies to manage their situation so that they can cope more effectively.

* Seniors today are becoming more involved in parenting their grandchildren, while simultaneously coping with their own challenges of later life issues. I provide support and parenting strategies to those families.

I have flexible hours, Monday (Oak Creek Office), Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (Oak Creek Office) with evening appointments available. I also offer day time appointments on Fridays. If you have any questions before getting started, please don't hesitate to ask. You can contact me via phone or email. It's important to me that you feel this will be a good fit for you; therefore, I am offering a free 15 minute phone consultation to prospective referrals. I look forward to assisting you in making the changes in your life that you desire!
