What's My Approach to Therapy?
Hello, I’m a dual-licensed mental health counselor based in Brookfield, WI. I specialize in trauma treatment, including posttraumatic stress (PTSD) and complex or developmental trauma, as well as anxiety, grief inlcuding life transistions, couples & family counseling, and professional burnout. My work focuses on helping you reconnect with yourself in a way that feels safe, steady, and sustainable, so you are truly living life.
My approach is deeply trauma-focused and rooted in nervous system regulation and whole-person healing. I integrate eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), sensorimotor psychotherapy, somatic experiencing, brainspotting, and internal family systems (IFS), along with other evidence-based approaches, to create an eclectic and individualized experience. I believe healing involves both mind and body, not just understanding your story intellectually, but gently processing it so your system can finally feel safe, settled, and more at ease.
I also work with individuals struggling with substance use and addiction, whether you are questioning your relationship with alcohol or drugs, actively seeking recovery, or working to maintain long-term sobriety. My approach is nonjudgmental, collaborative, and grounded in understanding the underlying stress, trauma, or emotional pain that often drives addictive behaviors. Together, we focus on creating sustainable change that supports both recovery and overall well-being.
