Developing deeper self-awareness along with a kinder attitude toward ourselves helps us understand our lives better. When we approach ourselves in a friendly manner, our own wisdom emerges to guide us through troubled times. Together, we will meet your depression, anxiety, transitions and/or relationship issues with friendly curiosity, and develop new skills and tools so you can live a happier, more fruitful life.
I am trained in Contemplative Psychotherapy, which is a blend of Eastern and Western psychology. It is based on the assumption that each person is basically and intrinsically healthy, despite conditioning that says we are wrong or bad. I can help you illuminate this intrinsic health and connect with your authentic self. With my training in Buddhist psychology and mindfulness practices I can help you develop skills and tools for compassion-based problem solving.
My clients tell me they feel happier and more confident, have better relationships, and are able to make more positive choices in their lives through our work together. Relief and healing is possible when we rest on the ground of compassion and maitri, or loving-kindness. Being kind to ourselves is a revolutionary act that can change the world.
