My Approach to Helping

I collaborate with individuals and couples in building fulfilling relationships and developing self-understanding, confidence, and trust.
Genuine openness is important in my personal relationships, and it's reasonable that you would expect that from your therapist. Therapy benefits from you getting to know me too. If you ask me a question or would like to know what I think, I'll answer you!
My therapeutic style is to be warm, direct, and open with my perspective.

WHAT MAKES YOU A HOLISTIC THERAPIST?
Instead of pathologizing and focusing on problems, I address the whole person by bringing mindfulness (noticing moment-to-moment experience), somatic (body-based) awareness, health and nutrition, and spirituality into the therapy when needed.

HOW DOES YOUR OWN PERSONAL GROWTH INFLUENCE YOUR WORK?
I've been committed to my personal growth work for over a decade, so that I can 1) experience the most meaningful life possible, 2) have fulfilling relationships, and 3) appreciate and enjoy life without my hangups and discomfort getting in the way.

My development and academic training allow me to engage with people in a challenging yet compassionate way which accelerates their self-understanding and contentment. My emphasis on mindfulness, spirituality, writing, and holistic wellness springs from personal experience as well as academic study.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

You have patterns of approaching situations and relationships that now result in dissatisfaction or disappointment. This dissatisfaction is simply a cue that something needs to change.

When we try to resist or ignore this cue, sometimes we end up tangled in larger issues like: inauthenticity, avoidance, low self-confidence, feeling stuck or trapped, and stress or hopelessness.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

In therapy you 1) better understand yourself, 2) move through what is in the way of your contentment in relationships and inner freedom, then 3) get what you need and want from life.

Working with a therapist is both challenging and nourishing. Your motivations, goals, and strengths become clearer. You gain insight into issues that might be difficult to face alone.
