My Approach to Helping

I think of myself as an eclectic therapist who includes cognitive, behavioral, existential, psychodynamic, narrative, Gestalt, TA, narrative and Redecision Therapy as my tools to help you. My major goal is to help you identify and cope more effectively with problems in daily living and to deal with inner conflicts which may disrupt your ability to function effectively. You are expected to play an active role in your treatment, including, working with me to outline your treatment goals and assess your progress. I love working with individuals, couples, families and groups. I have 19 years of experience in clinical practice.

More Info About My Practice

My office is located in my home in Farmers Branch, TX, beside the 16th tee box on the Brookhaven Golf Course. Parking is easy and disabled accessible. Clients tell me how much they enjoy the anonymity provided by a home office with a serene and beautiful scenic view. My office hours are Monday through Thursday from noon to 7 PM in the evening. I consider myself flexible and will see current clients and new clients for emergencies even on Fridays and weekends. I wrote a chapter in a published book titled, " Redecision Stories from within an HMO (Kaiser Permanente) with a Special Emphasis In Chemical Dependency", Redecision Therapy, edited by Carolyn E. Lennox, Ed., Jason Aronson Inc., Publisher, 1997. I received my MSSW from the University of Texas at Arlington in May 1989. I have been in practice ever since. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a drama teacher in high school, worked in PR for a major corporation until I became a career counselor. In 1987 I decided to become a Psychiatric Social Worker and I have done so ever since. Currently I am President of Dallas Group Psychotherapy Association, a member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. I am married with seven blended adult children and 13 grandchildren.
