Psychotherapy is a journey of the heart, which leads to deep and lasting healing as well as, enhancing the quality of our lives. As a committed partner on this sacred journey, I bring with me the the maps and tools of my professional trainingand and personal experience. I strive to create therapeutic relationships which encourage transformation through enhanced awareness of self and other. To deepen therapy, I offer a variety of experiential methods such as; somatic experiencieg, somatic experiencing touch, interactive guider imagery, hypnosis, focusing, and mindfulness meditation. I believe that by grounding therapy in the body and experience, we achieve a deeper and more lasting healing that relieves many of the psychiological and physicalsymptoms that often accompany unresolved issure.
More Info About My Practice
In addition to my formal training in counseling psychology, I have over 20 years of professional experience. My approach to therapy is experiential in nature. As we access emotional and somatic states where our beliefs are foremed and stored; we can the release traumas and re-pattern beliefs and habits. Trauma and emotional experiences are held in the body and often inaccessable through talking. So it is only by way of the body that we can achieve true and lasting healing. In addition to experiential therapies, I am now using Somatic Experiencing touch to to further empower the work. Gentle touch is used to provide support, as well as to facilitate discharge and energy flow. Often our core beliefs about ourselves and the world are formed when we are very young and preverbal. The most effective way to access these states is throught he body, using sensate focus augumented with gentle touch on a massage table.
