My Approach to Helping

Are the difficult financial times adding stress to your life and your relationships? Are you at a point in your relationship where you need help? Do you want to stay together but do not know how to pick up the broken pieces? Do you want to explore your current concerns in a safe, confidential environment? At Maryland Counseling Services we strive to offer a safe, nonjudgmental environment where individuals and couples can explore their issues and concerns. We work to facilitate stronger relational attachments which can lead to greater satisfaction in that relationship and in one's life overall. We utilize a variety of interventions to assist couples in increasing their effective communication skills, deepening their understanding of one another, working towards conflict resolution, and developing deepr emotional intimacy. We also recognize that there may be underlying individual issues which can impact the dynamics of the couple relationship so we work towards identifying and resolving these issues as well. For those indivdiuals and couples under increased financial stressors, we offer support and tips on how to get through these times and find fulfillment in life despite these additional strains. Additionally, our clinic specializes in working with adolescents in the Parkville area addressing a variety of issues including: academic issues, social issues, depression, difficulty adjusting to middle school/high school, peer conflicts and life changes adjustments.

Our clinic was designed to assist individuals and couples in exploring their current symptoms and concerns so that they can reach their goals and sustain their lifestyle changes. We acknowledge and understand that each person is unique and; therefore, believe that each person's treatment should be unique and individualized to fit his/her special needs. Our clinic is comprised of Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors and Licensed Clinical Social Workers with many years of experience in the field. Our clinicians not only counsel indivduals and couples but are also published and have presented at national conferences on a variety of psychological topics. Our office is conveniently located in the Parkville area and is easily accessible by major roadways. Day, evening and Saturday appointments are available.
