My Approach to Helping
We all have struggled with hard times that make it hard to connect meaningfully with the world around us and the people in it. I am here so you do not have to face those times alone. Together we can face depression, work to limit the impact of past traumatic experiences, and end substance use that may be increasing the discomfort. I am your ally.
I offer a solution focused, client centered experience that is nonjudgmental, and accepting of the client\'s life experience. I work hard to meet clients where they are at and focus on growth throughout the journey. I specialize in Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, and Substance Abuse outpatient counseling.
I began my journey into the helping profession after serving 9 years in the United States Navy as a Cryptologist. Each time I returned from a deployment I witnessed myself and other sailors increasingly struggle with things like depression, anger, alcohol dependence, insomnia, and risky behaviors. That is the point where I started researching the effects of trauma and decided to be a Social Worker to help people through their most challenging times.
