What's My Approach to Therapy?
Clients whom I serve may be people I see every day on the street or in the store. They may have lost their way or their identity—they may feel broken and discouraged, hopeless or lonely, anxious, or depressed. All they want is to feel a sense of belonging, find their true purpose, or just feel encouraged.
My name is Angela, and I would love to take this journey with you. I have been a nurse for 15 years and have worked in inpatient behavioral health. I believe that mental health affects all aspects of our lives, including our physical, social, and spiritual processes, and we can work together to develop a therapeutic plan for balance going forward. Sometimes even how or when we eat can affect the neurotransmitters that cause anxiety and depression. I will reach out to you before our first visit to find out how I can help you and to make sure you feel safe where you are mentally. Our first visit will be to get to know each other, and we will dig into your history to make a path forward for the future. Together, we can focus on anxiety, depression, past trauma, phobias, and substance use, including nicotine addiction, using cognitive behavioral therapy or compassion-focused therapy for those who need help with self-blame or guilt.
