My Approach to Helping

When you struggle with abuse, trauma andor anger, then life can be difficult to navigate. This is true for children, adolescents, and their families. Speaking your truth is difficult when your first language is play, or you find it difficult to share your thoughts because of abuse, trauma, grief or depression. Children and adolescents struggle with a myriad of concerns in our technologically-driven age, whereby, their first impressions stem from influences seen on television, social media, and experiences from within their home or school environments. Moreover, adjusting to life-changing events is hard for children and adolescents who need to feel supported on their journey through life. I believe that "a person is a person, no matter how small" --Dr. Seuss.

More Info About My Practice

I provide evidenced based psychotherapy for children, ages 5-19, and their families within my private practice. My goal is to help them recognize that their voice matters regardless of the circumstances or events faced in life. My specialty centers around: eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, mood issues, trauma, and PTSD related issues.
Parent-Child relationships can be a challenge at times; however, each of us is inherently responsible for the roles in which we choose to play and adopt. Parent-child relationships are vital to the family unit and are important to the psychological development of the child or teen. Moreover, adjusting to life-changing events is hard for children who need to feel supported on their journey through life. Take the first step and call Copenhagen Counseling, PLLC, today for an appointment, and rebuild the most important relationship--your child and yours.
