My Approach to Helping
Sometimes, life and its troubles can seem overwhelming. Maybe your marriage is falling apart. Maybe your teenager is out of control. Maybe your life FEELS out of control. Maybe what should be a small problem seems huge. Maybe you think no one cares.
I really do care about you. You're not alone in your troubles. You've found a safe place and someone you can trust. And though I can't offer "quick fixes," you'll find credible advice and practical solutions for whatever problems you are facing. More importantly, you will find hope for tomorrow.
Please don't allow the hurts of your past to determine your future. There is hope, help, and healing available. You only need to make the decision to make a positive change in your life by getting started.
Today you are one step closer to becoming all that you were created to be!
I look forward to going on a journey with you as you are being transformed.

More Info About My Practice
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy [specialty], and I maintain a private practice in Redlands, CA.
I am happily married to my best friend and we are celebrating our 33rd year of being married. We have two adult daughters and a grandson. Along with my husband, we served for over 15 years at our church. My husband is retired from his career as a full time Fire Fighter. Mentoring married couples has become our passion.
I believe that healing and wholeness is possible and I would love to walk with you through your journey toward meaning and contentment.
My Therapy Focus
I find that many people have simply lost hope. And with that, they have lost the motivation and drive that, under normal circumstances, carries people through the difficult seasons in our lives. I will show you that there is a reason to have hope in your situation. Once you are in that place, I can begin teaching you how to turn your situation around.
While this seems simple enough on the surface, there is a reason why you are stuck in this place. That's where the experience and training of a licensed counselor is needed. I would love to be that person for you.
Our slogan at Restoration Counseling Service is, "Helping you to be all that you were created to be." This is not merely a catchy phrase for us. It has been a guiding principle since I started in this field and it will be until I am done!
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
In many ways, I believe that our culture tends to "over-think" the therapeutic process. Counseling is not nearly as intimidating as most people seem to think it is. In other words, if our plumbing is not working as expected, we call a professional plumber. If our car is not performing the way it used to, we consult a professional mechanic. Why would we think that our relationships are so different? If something is wrong with one or more of the relationships in your life, call a counselor, who is a professional in helping people with their relationships. It's not as scary as you may think. Many who have taken that same step have said something like, "I never would have wasted all those years trying to make things work on my own if I had known that the result could be this good." So, what are you waiting for? Really, what are you waiting for?
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
The reason you feel overwhelmed is because you are in the middle of whatever is challenging you right now. Emotionally, relationally, and physically you feel as if you are drowning??? and you probably are!
As your counselor, I am not emotionally involved in the middle of your challenges. Instead, I am able to remain impartial and focus on solutions that will guide you back to a place of wholeness and balance. Since you feel as though you are drowning, I will be the person to throw you a life preserver and a rope. I will pull you in to the safety of the ship, then I will help you to discover how you got there in the first place, how to get yourself to safety, and how to keep yourself out of that situation in the future.
Choosing to get professional help is never the problem, choosing to stay where you are (drowning in the ocean) is!
