My Approach to Helping

Hello and take a deep breath, you've taken the first step in getting where you're going. I'm a firm believer that a good connection and match is the key to success in terms of therapy, so I pride myself in developing a collaborative relationship with my clients. I specialize in treatment of anxiety and depressive symptoms and work from a structured cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness orientation, meaning I focus on helping you change your thoughts and behaviors while being more present in the moment to feel in control when life and or your body may feel very out of your control. While I work with significant anxiety and anxiety disorders that impact your daily life such as panic attacks, OCD, or specific phobias, I also love to work with individuals who just need support and are aspiring to meet their personal goals. I also offer psychological and psychoeducational assessments for ages 6 and up to identify potentially learning disorders or mental health disorders that may be impacting academic or social functioning. Putting the puzzle together and examining all the pieces can create a more informed plan for success! I look forward to seeing if we are a good match and answer any questions you may have!

How Psychotherapy Can Help

While therapy can be a way of helping you alleviate significant mental health symptoms and navigate a specific game plan for decreasing symptoms that are interfering in your life, I think it also offers a great way of engaging in simple self care. We live a fast-pace and demanding life, taking an hour to care for yourself, work towards your own goals, sort out your own thoughts and factors influencing your identity, values, and relationships with others can be invaluable. Therapy is a way of you achieving the best you and working to decrease obstacles in the way!
