My Approach to Helping
Welcome! Life has many ups, downs, twists, and turns leaving you wondering which path to take. You can even start feeling stuck. Sometimes we only focus on the path once traveled. Sometimes we get too tangled in the path that is not yet within our reach. My goal is to help you focus on your present journey and where you would like your journey to lead. I look forward to understanding your story, while overcoming obstacles, identifying triggers, further developing coping skills, exploring what is important to you, and helping you live a fulfilled life.
In therapy, my goal is to understand who you are, what is important to you, and, most importantly your strengths. Once we establish a foundation of trust, we can identify the problems areas within your life and work collaboratively to resolve them. When doing so, you will be able to live your most fulfilled life.
I specialize in working with adolescents with performance anxiety, social anxiety, substance use, depression, self-harm, self-esteem and anger issues. I also conduct sixteen-week parenting and anger management courses, see clients as young as three to the elderly, with a variety of stressors and diagnoses. Because of my diverse background and exposure to different populations, I have a wealth of knowledge and a better understanding of how to serve my clients' specific needs. My theoretical orientation is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). However, I utilize other interventions that fit my clients' specific needs. I am also a certified Prepare-Enrich Therapist and now offer Walk & Talk Therapy held at Tri-City Park in Placentia.
I look forward to going on this journey with you!
