My Approach to Helping
My name is Stephanie Castillo and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology at California State, Los Angeles. After receiving my BA, I went on to study substance use addiction and worked as a counselor at a rehabilitation center. I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Long Beach.
I believe the relationship between client and therapist is most important and that is why I focus on creating a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental environmental during our sessions is together. I work with adults and couples who are having challenges in work, family problems, couples issues, depression, lacking self-care, low energy, low motivation, overworked, feeling overwhelmed, and can't find a solution to these problems.
Yes, you may be feeling down right now. You may feel like nothing is in your favor. Nothing is working out. But it doesn’t have to be this way. I can help. I do not have a one size fits all approach. Knowing that not everyone is the same or deals with things the same, our sessions will be tailored to your needs and I will use interventions that suits you best. Some theoretical approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic and Person-Centered .
When I'm not working, I like to think of myself as a pro at binging TV shows. I also enjoy running and participating in marathons. With this comes eating which I absolutely love to do. I like listening to music and going to concerts with my family.
