My Approach to Helping
I studied at Florida State University where I earned the Bachelors of Science in Rehabilitative Services and the Master of Social Work degrees. I later earned the Education Doctorate with an emphasis in Multi-Cultural Education from Georgia Southern University. I am also certified as a Health Educator. I am a Personal Wellness Strategist who uses a holistic approach while empowering clients toward health and wholeness.
I am passionate about empowering youth, women, families, and the aging population to RISE through challenges towards resilience, insight, and strength using evidence-based practices. Together, we will develop a plan of action, identify potential barriers and create a path for sustainable change. We will consider how your environment and physical health may be impacting your socialemotional and mental health.
My areas of specialization include treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship problems, trauma, life stressors such as school and college experiences, separation, divorce, blended families, bereavement, and aging-related depression and anxiety. I also have certification as a Food over Medicine Specialist. My experience spans 25+ years and includes treating youth, and adults in hospitals settings, home health agencies, nursing homes, and outpatient behavioral health. My background also includes experience as tenured faculty in undergraduategraduate-level social work and psychology in Georgia and Florida.
