My Approach to Helping
Rachel Sims is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania with experience working alongside people to better manage mental health struggles, change unhealthy behaviors, improve relationships and live present and connected lives. Rachel has experience working with adults and adolescents struggling with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. Rachel completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Addictions Counseling and Masters of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. Sheutilizes mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, and interpersonal therapy to help people better manage strong emotions, identify and change negative thought patterns, live more fully in the present moment, and improve connections and relationships in order to decrease life difficulties and mental health issues. Rachel is able to offer a warm and nonjudgemental space for you to process, be heard and supported, deepen insight, gain coping skills, utilize strengths, challenge unhelpful thoughts, improve relationships, set goals, and live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
