Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Humans Are Sexual Beings. Yet, we are often fearful of seeking out help in this very private and often sensitive area. I am a certified Sex Therapist and am trained to provide a safe, healthy environment for my clients to engage without shame, areas of their sexuality that may be causing concerns or questions. I am a compassionate and empathetic therapist. There is no need to limit oneself from being a healthy and fulfilled sexual being.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Often clients express how they ruminate over and over about an issue in the forefront of their lives. Psychotherapy lets you talk about the issue, look at it from multiple angles and not be held hostage by the feelings, instead review their affect and make informed decisions about how to proceed. Sometimes this involves a review of family of origin or a system analysis. Having a non-judgmental caring professional walk with you can add clarity to the picture. Chances are you know the answer it's a matter of allowing the process to unfold.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
I believe it is critically important to talk to a therapist prior to engaging in therapy. There needs to be a sense of trust and safety between a client and a therapist. Do they put you at ease? Is there a sense of caring emulating from this person? Therapy helps us take a look at the sides of ourselves we like and the sides we may not care for. Therefore it is vital to have a solid therapeutic relationship with your therapist. Do not be afraid to ask a therapist questions for only then will you get a feel for the person. For after all we are all human beings.
