My Approach to Helping

Patricia Krikorian is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. Patricia is passionate about helping adults address their unique challenges and live more fulfilled lives. She specializes in depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship issues, and major life transitions. As a therapist, Patricia provides clinical therapeutic services to adults with identified mental health diagnoses. These services are designed to meet the specific behavioral health needs of the identified client as they relate to their diagnosis. She has worked in community social service settings with diverse populations, including those with health, behavioral, and mental health issues, substance use, children and families who were experiencing homelessness, adoptions, domestic violence, developmental disabilities, and various levels of trauma. Patricia completed her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social Work at the University of the District of Columbia and her Master of Science (MS) in Social Services at Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She also completed a Juris Doctor (JD) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Patricia holds a Certificate in Clinical Supervision, a Certificate in Substance Abuse & Behavioral Health Prevention, and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist. Her therapy approaches include psychoeducational and psychotherapy activities/interventions/skills building designed to assist the client in the reduction of dysfunction. Services are provided with client-centered approaches and are delivered through goal specific interventions. Patricia utilizes multiple treatment approaches including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and trauma healing and recovery. She believes that healing can be hard, yet there are always opportunities to find joy along the journey as she helps clients repurpose pain into power. We all go through challenges in life. Patricia is confident that she would be able to support you on your journey to gain new perspective and techniques that allow you to cope with whatever you may be struggling with.
