My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a B.A. from Auburn University and M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas. I completed my internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Medical School. I also completed a fellowship at the UAB Center for Psychiatric Medicine. I am a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and Board Member of the National Register of Health Providers in Psychology. My areas of expertise include assessment and treatment of addiction, trauma, impulsivity, personality disorders, and mood disorders. I provide individual, marital, family, and group therapy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
My overall goal is to help people obtain the coping skills needed to deal with everyday stress and serious mental health issues. By providing skills training and psychotherapy, I am able to help people think more clearly, behave more effectively, and feel better overall.
