My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works at Portrait Health Centers in New Jersey. I function as a consultant and an ally to my clients as I help them identify and reach their therapeutic goals. During my doctoral training, I provided mental health services to families, teenagers, and children. These clinical experiences gave me opportunities to care for many extraordinary families, some of whom were trying therapy for the first time.
My work allows me to build close relationships with physicians, religious leaders, school staff, and other people who want to see positive changes in their community. I offer therapy to adults, teens, and children in individual, group, and family settings. I provide treatment for issues such as anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, relationship challenges, and attention issues.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is a short-term treatment modality that explores the connections between thoughts, emotions, and actions, as well as their impact on your success and general wellbeing. I also utilize techniques from Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP)—an evidence-based approach that harnesses the strength of the therapeutic relationship. CBT and FAP are empirically-supported modalities that allow my clients and me to honor our individual, family, and cultural values as we work toward improved health.
