My Approach to Helping
I find it interesting that some counselors will say that they follow only one type of therapy model, as all people do not come from cookie cutter molds. Each individual comes from their own unique and different background. As a counselor, I consider all the many interventions that come from numerous and different therapies to be as exciting as picking out your favorite flavor at the ice cream shop. Some people just don\'t like chocolate, but I know there will be another flavor that they will identify with to bring them ultimate joy.
My first intervention with my clients is to find that common ground where we can identify with each other, and as that happens explore different therapy methods that motivate the desired change.
