Billing and Insurance:

I am an in-network provider for:

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
  • Cigna
  • Curalinc
  • Quest Behavioral Health
  • SelectHealth
Session Fees: The cash rate is $150 per session. I can bill insurance in-network (see list) or out-of-network (easier than you think). I can also take payments from grant programs or church leaders. HSA, FSA, creditdebit, Zelle, and cash accepted. Need a sliding scale due to very low income and legitimate need? Find me through openpathcollective.org. I can only take one Open Path client at a time due to the unsustainable fees. An important note on the \"free\" consultation: I charge a $25 deposit for a consultation, and if you decide to schedule an actual appointment, the $25 will be credited to that session, ultimately making your consultation free. Unfortunately, I had to start charging the deposit because I was getting too many no-shows, and it was disrespectful to my time.

What's My Approach to Therapy?

I’m a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) and Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) based in Logan, Utah, specializing in the intersection of nutrition and mental health. My practice integrates functional nutrition, psychotherapy, and mindful lifestyle practices to address the root causes of mental and emotional imbalance. I've found that a lot of people think they know what it means to eat a healthy diet, but there’s a lot of misinformation out there, making people confused. This is why it can be helpful to have a professional guide you. Drawing from a whole-food, whole-person philosophy, I help clients restore balance to the gut-brain axis, regulate blood sugar and hormones, and support the biological foundations of emotional well-being, helping people to reduce or avoid medication dependence and the associated side effects. I believe that true healing comes from addressing the mind, body, and spirit together, not just one of those. In my work, I support adults and university students experiencing burnout, anxiety, depression, bipolar, poor sleep, brain fog, and fatigue. My approach weaves together mindfulness, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), emotional freedom techniques (EFT, tapping), yoga, and functional nutritional therapy to promote big and sustainable change. I offer in-person sessions in Logan, Utah, as well as virtual appointments. Psychotherapy (talk therapy) is available to clients in Utah and Idaho, while nutritional therapy is open to clients across most states and countries. Keywords: functional nutritionist in Utah, nutritional therapy for mental health, holistic mental health practitioner, gut-brain connection therapy, functional nutrition counseling, integrative psychotherapy.

My Practice & Services

I also offer nutrition-only services for those who either want help with general health or who want to focus on nutrition for mental health without the psychotherapy part. This is available to people in most states. Group nutrition classes are offered online, based on demand. If you want nutrition-only services, go to my website to learn more or to book an appointment.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Sometimes, it's the therapist to blame. But sometimes, it's not! I've found that many people come to me after seeing another therapist. They talk about the negative experience they had, but they don't give me any real reason why it could have been the therapist's fault. Therapy has a lot to do with (1) whether you "click" with your therapist, and (2) how much effort you put into it. I've had many people very happy with my work all because of how they clicked with me and felt like we were a good fit. But I've had a few who have left because of a personality mismatch or something similar. If that's the case, it's no one's fault. It's just not a good match, and that's okay. But even if it's a good match, make sure you are doing the homework assigned to you. Those who follow through with the things they learn in therapy get better much more quickly than those who don't.
