My Approach to Helping
It is my privilege to work with people who are experiencing obstacles to living their best life.
In a caring, warm and non judgmental environment I can help you deal with issues including anxiety and depression.
Sometimes we are experiencing a life transition such as divorce, empty nest or the loss of a loved one. I can help you to sort through your feelings and come to decisions that move you forward in a healthy way.
My specialty is couples marriage counseling. Using the powerful tools developed by John Gottman Ph.D during 40 years of research I can help you improve communication and renew the passion you had as newlyweds.

My Role as a Therapist
A person needs to feel that they are in a safe environment with an attentive, empathetic therapist. Research and experience tells us that the trusting, caring relationship between the person or couple and their therapist is the most important determinant of whether therapy will be helpful and successful. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your particular situation.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
Everyone experiences difficulties in life and I am no exception. Going through a major life event gives one increased perspective.
In my own practice, I can say to my clients that yes, I have experienced difficult times (most recently cancer) and returned to my core self a little wiser. and with greater understanding of other's challenges.
The distressing way that you might be feeling now will not be permanent. I can help you work through the pain.
