My Approach to Helping
Whatever difficulties you are facing, I am here to provide a compassionate and non-judgmental perspective. In the quiet of my office I will listen closely as you share who you are and what makes you and your life situation unique. I will guide you in expressing and exploring your challenges, then help you find practical solutions for what might now seem like insurmountable challenges.
With a creative mix of therapy techniques, wisdom and life experience, I build on your strengths, identify and address root causes, and help you create and work towards a plan to achieve the changes you seek. I use a holistic approach because mind, body and spirit are all connected.
I have 18 years of professional experience as a therapist, hospice chaplain and pastor.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have extensive experience and training in griefloss and family conflict.
In addition to individual grief counseling I offer a grief group twice a month. I also offer a six week support group for parents' who have lost a child to death. Here are the details. The loss of a child at any age brings a unique grief. If you have suffered the death of a child and are experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, guilt, flashbacks or emotional numbness, this grief group could help. Each week will focus on a grief related topic, followed by facilitated discussion and support on issues you are currently experiencing.
Weekly topics include:
How to cope with grief.
Parental identity after loss.
Managing the response of friends, family and strangers.
Layers of grief.
Remembering, memorializing and continuing your life.
