My Approach to Helping

Grief is the normal and natural human response to loss, but this doesn't make it any less overwhelming to navigate. If someone or something that anchored your life has disappeared, the process of healing and rebuilding through grief can feel impossible. I work with people grieving over six to eight sessions to establish a solid foundation that will allow you to rebuild your life in a way that keeps you connected to the past while moving forward in a way that offers connection and hope again. If we need more time together, we'll take it. But often we're able to accomplish a lot more in a short time than people expect, allowing you to feel confident in the relationship you've developed with your grief and your path forward.

More Info About My Practice

I'm a clinical social worker, which means my training includes the traditional mental health concepts of modern psychology, but with additional concentration on supporting the challenges we all face living in a socially, politically, and economically uncertain world. I have nearly 15 years of clinical expertise in grief, loss, and life transitions, but before all of that, I was trained and worked in philosophy and applied ethics. That background still very much influences my practice, as life after loss often involves asking the big questions about why we're here, how to live in a world with so much suffering, and what makes life meaningful.
