My Approach to Helping
Are you looking to heal PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, life losses and grief, or just looking for some effective skills and tools to help navigate your life? I can help you take control of your life. At Gypsy Wind Ranch Counseling, I offer a holistic therapy approach to help you heal and grow. I use three main methods: 1) Equine Facilitated Therapy - to help heal trauma, grief and relationship issues, 2) Hypnotherapy-to access the source of our issues from the subconscious and 3) Holographic Memory Resolution - to help access memories/trauma that are held in the body and often result in somatic issues. As a therapist, my goal is to help you on your path to healing. I use my expertise to help you attain your goals.
Why Equine Facilitated Therapy EFT? Horses can add a unique and healing aspect to helping us with our issues, self awareness and personal growth. They provide an incredible presence when dealing with grief or trauma. In conjunction with EFT, I also use other methods to help you heal.
More Info About My Practice
I am located in a private office attached to an indoor arena near Monument, CO. When we work with the horses, we work in solace in the presence of the trained and gentle horses at Gypsy Wind Ranch.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have had success helping people heal trauma and PTSD. When a person has been so traumatized that they don't feel safe with people, the horses step in where I can't. When the person is ready to face the dark places, I provide a safe, comforting environment and different methods of helping them release the energy around the trauma and reframe it into something that helps heal and put their lives back together.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
I often think the work "psychotherapy" puts people off - it often infers that something is "wrong" with me. I think of it as more of a sacred relationship where a person can explore the patterns, behaviors, experiences & beliefs that have been causing difficulties in their life. Being able to walk this road without being alone or judged is the process of healing (aka, psychotherapy)
My Role as a Therapist
First of all, my role is to listen. I listen to the words you speak, but I also listen to what is not being said. The body and emotions often speak at a deeper level. My second role is to facilitate discussion, experiences and "the work" in a way that is respectful, supportive and helpful to you. The third role is to help you learn and practice new and effective life skills. In me, you will find an open, willing and skilled therapist committed to helping you on your path to healing.
