My Approach to Helping
There are times in our life when we become so overwhelmed with everything that we are unsure where to begin to put things together in a way that makes sense or that feels like we have control over our situations. Relationships, school, work, and other responsibilities can all feel as though they are urgently competing for our immediate attention and there seems to be not enough time or energy to give to everything and everyone. And yet, you may have a sense or feeling that things could be better. You are right! It is very likely that you are doing the best you can do AND there is room for growth. This is true for us all.
In therapy, we will use a structured framework to understand your life by exploring your thoughts, your feelings, and responses in certain situations. We will have the opportunity to speak the unspeakable and accept difficult realities all in an effort to begin working towards changing your situation, reducing your suffering, and building a life you love.
Making that first phone call or email to begin the process of therapy can take some time and you may feel the urge to delay beginning this process. I will encourage you to breathe through hesitation and delay your journey no more. Whether with me or another therapist, make the call, send that email, and begin the rewarding work of therapy.
