My Approach to Helping

Greetings! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Eugene, Oregon with 5 years of experience providing psychotherapy. I work with adults and families seeking support with a range of needs in therapy, including anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+ related issues, and relational stress. I utilize the modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused therapy, and mindfulness based practices to support clients in achieving their goals to work towards fulfillment and feeling better.

My approach in therapy varies depending on the individual needs of each client I get to work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and mindfulness practices.

I have found that My person-centered approach and style is a good fit for clients who may be experiencing increased stress due to life transitions, relational stressors, and who are motivated to address their goals and work towards healing. I am skilled and experienced in working with clients who identify as LGBTQIA+, and emphasize providing a safe, compassionate space for clients in this community.

Clients have described my communication style as comfortable and relatable, and I strive to create a space that is non-judgmental and personable for each client I see.

My path to becoming a therapist is rooted in my belief that the stories we develop over our lives and experiences lend themselves to our decisions, worldview, and identity. My hope is to provide a comfortable space to explore these narratives. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in taking steps to a more fulfilling, balanced life.

My approach to goal setting focuses on building trust and working together to define what progress and meaningful change looks like to each individual client.

During our first session, clients may expect to spend our time discussing presenting stressors, as well as relevant history and health information that will help my understanding of your needs and concerns. This first session is about building connection, answering any questions, and helping to get a sense of where we will begin on this journey together.
